When we were trying to conceive I was always looking for a miracle cure on the internet, in books or on the news for something that would solve all of my problems and just get me pregnant. Then and only then would everything be ok.
Unfortunately I'm not going to give you a miracle cure because it didn't happen, but after reading several articles on the selenium and zinc subject I thought- hell with it, I will share my thoughts on the subject. Maybe one day there will be a miracle cure for male infertility.
I wonder constantly why are so many people infertile these days or does it just seem like that because we talk more openly and freely about it infertility.
When my husband and I were diagnosed with infertility, Paul was told by a health professional that he had a very low sperm count. We were told by a medical professional that he believed and would advise us to go to our local chemist and buy bio selenium and zinc supplements to try to give Pauls sperm a boost.
It is believed that... "Zinc concentration in seminal plasma is known to correlate with sperm count, motility and viability"
Some people take selenium for preventing miscarriage and infertility these are to name a mere two, there are hundreds of other benefits.
My husband and I went though IVF treatment (ICSI) to conceive our first child, one year to the day after she was born we conceived twice.
The first unexpected conception resulted in miscarriage, however the following month we conceived again and nine months later I gave birth to our son.
I always wonder why and how I conceived so quickly the second time around, did I need IVF the first time? I hear so many stories about women conceiving naturally with their second child after having IVF with there first child.
How many tests have been done on supplements like selenium and zinc deficiency and does it bare any responsibility for improving quantity and sperm motility.?
Please, Please, Please.......Always ask your Doctor or health care professional before taking any medication of any kind and always do your own research.
