Isla my daughter is at nursery from 8.45am until 11.45am she starts fulltime school in September, Noah my youngest is with me all day every day but in September he will start playgroup (my life will get easier).
Working around my kid's can be tough some weeks are crazy busy and when I have several Skype calls booked in to talk to new clients it can be quite stressful trying to keep Noah occupied and entertained, surprisingly he has adjusted really well. He seems to understand that if I'm working he needs to be quiet and play quietly for half an hour whilst I am on my call. I always take him to the park afterwards as promised (I always keep my promises).
Juggling motherhood with working form home on the other hand can be easier because when I close my laptop and fetch Isla from nursery, I don't have to organise any childcare I just arrange my own diary and that of my clients to fit around nursery pick up.
Working for myself from home allows me to go out and spend quality time with my kid's at soft play centres, activity craft centres, strawberry picking or even baking at home. Admittedly I am the one that has to sacrifice because if I have a lot of work on then all of those plans have to go out of the window.
Gone are the days of watching Coronation Street with my husband relaxing with my feet up, instead when the kid's go to bed if I am at a loose end I would rather be learning a new skill or playing with reports on Google analytics.
Most evenings I am up all night madly tapping away until the early hours of the morning, I don't seem to need as much sleep these days (I have got used to sleep deprivation).
